During the orientation program, the University offers an extensive program of activities for commencing students to introduce you to university life, familiarise you with the QUT environment and help you to get to know some of the staff members and students you will meet throughout your studies.

Here’s quick look at orientation events for Semester 2. Some events are repeated for your convenience.
Monday 13 July
We recommend all commencing Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point students start on their own campus and attend:
- a campus tour – maps of Gardens Point (GP), Kelvin Grove (KG), Caboolture can be found here.
and - a Get on track, stay on track seminar
OR - register for QUT Connect where the same information and a campus tour will be presented by student volunteers from your faculty.
- What’s your flavour? – Free lunch and entertainment at Gardens Point campus. Transport will be provided for Kelvin Grove students. Pick up your wrist band from the welcome tent on your campus.
Other events to attend are:
- Student ePortfolio – an online tool to track your development
- Library tours
- Student Guild – services and facilities offer by the Student Guild
- Understanding Cultural Diversity - communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- International students Information Session – compulsory for most international students
- Postgraduate Business - international students only

Learn more about your faculty and course by attending your Faculty Sessions which will be held on this day, except for the Faculty of Business*.

- 'Race around the Uni' by Student Guild
- Afternoon barbeque followed by a bush dance and the State of Origin game.
Thursday 16 July
Main day for all postgraduate Business students.
