The use of computers is essential to your study at QUT. You should take time to look at the QUT website which is the starting point to a variety of academic resources and administrative services.

Activate your student email account
QUT will send a significant amount of official correspondence to you by email.
You must regularly check your university student email address for important notices. If you redirect your student email to another email account (eg Hotmail) you must ensure this account has the capacity to recieve the redirected emails.
